I just returned from a 3-week long vacation in Mexico and in the U.S. I did not believe myself as being home-sick until I was there and I realized that I missed so many things.

Tall Skim Milk Misto with Foam from Starbucks

The first thing I did as soon as I landed was to get a Misto (my fav coffee) from Starbucks. We do have Starbucks in the Netherlands, but they sell for almost 2x the American price and well, the coffee just does not taste the same I must admit.

Overall I had a great time with my family and my friends! It was nice to be back and living the life that I left more than 10 years ago. Being there brought me a lot of nostalgia. While I loooove my life as it is right now and I am extremely thankful for all I have, I realized that at the same time I miss my family, my previous homes, and my peeps ( from Mexico, and the U.S) like crazy.

With my lovely friends -1

With my lovely BFFs-1

I will miss you all and those whom I did not see (Charlotte and Berkeley peeps), you know how much I love you and hope to see you again soon! Perhaps this summer??? :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2010!!!

Let the Holidays Begin

So I managed to do all my packing, laundry, cleaning and all that good stuff. I also managed to sleep for 3 hours before heading out to Schiphol Airport and catching my flight to the States.

As usual, my bag was over-weighed.  It was not due to me packing unnecessary things, but I just had too many presents & souvenirs for my family and friends. And well,  I just did not know that Stroopwafels could be so heavy :) Fortunately, the lady at the check-in desk let me check-in my 4kg- over-weighed bag :) That made me happy.

It was my first time flying with Continental Airlines on an international flight. I was extremely happy with their service. They made sure we always had something to drink and the quality of the food was very good.  The flight from A’dam to Houston seemed shorter than what I thought. As soon as I landed in Houston, I knew that the first thing I’d do was to drink a cup of Starbucks :)

After a yum and revitalizing cup of coffee, I had a chicken burrito at Pappasitos Cantina for lunch. I hate Tex-Mex food, but the burrito just looked very appetizing.

Now, I am still waiting at Houston airport for my connection. It is so silly: It took me 10 hrs to cross the ocean, and I have spent 6 hours at the airport waiting for my 1-hr connecting flight. I could have easily flown back to Europe by now :P

I just finished talking to my sister and told me that a bottle of Shiraz awaits me at home. Can’t wait! Let the Holidays begin!!!! :)
